East Africa

It is fitting that the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia, and surrounding countries offer some of the most complex and exciting coffees in the world. The aromatics from a washed Yirgacheffe rival the finest perfumes with a complexity of jasmine, rose, bergamot, pine, lemon, orange and warm honey. Kenyans offer their own set of intensely pleasing aromatics ranging from fresh cut cedar, to blackberries, grapefruit and lemon rind. You can also expect lots of life with brighter acidities, especially in Kenyans. We pride ourselves in sourcing some of the best, mind-blowing East Africans in the world. Some are so different than what is typically thought of as coffee, they can be a little "surprising" to a coffee drinker used to milder coffees. But with an open mind, you may soon find yourself enjoying and even preferring the flavor bombs in each mouth-full.
