How we brew


Traveling to coffee growing regions is one of the most important and meaningful things that we do.

We meet with the growers who produce the beautiful coffees we buy. We evaluate crops, cup through specific lots, select coffees for purchase, provide input on processing, and specify milling requirements. Through continued dialogue and relationships developed we advise on improvements we feel will ultimately result in an even better cup of coffee.

During these visits and friendships made, we also understand more fully the passion, hard work and commitment it takes to ensure a successful crop year after year. We return more equipped to share with staff and customers the story behind these exemplary coffees.

Emerging from this work is a strong line of direct trade coffees. Most of our Central American coffees fall under this category. Look for this trend to increase as we continue developing relationships with farmers in other growing regions throughout the world.
