Imported from Caravela, this coffee represents the work of a group of small-scale coffee producers from the northern Region of Chalantenango. An area rich in biodiversity and designated as a biosphere, it borders both Honduras and Guatemala. The name El Mural comes from the region's many beautiful murals and abundant artistic community. This coffee is a honey process, which involves leaving the sticky layer of mucilage between the coffee cherry and the seed on while drying, resulting in lovely, sweet honey-like notes.
When brewed, this coffee is a lovely companion for crisp weather with notes of baking spice, gala apple, maple syrup, dried fruit, honey graham crackers, and a hit of baker's chocolate. It's like an apple crisp in a cup.
Dial in to notes of honey graham cracker and black currant by starting with a 1 to16 brew ratio, filtered water at 203-206°F, a medium grind, and a 3 to 3.5-minute brew cycle.
