Our First Ethiopian Lot of the Season

Delicate and complex

We're excited to offer our first Ethiopia of the season from the Bookkisa community in Guji. We sourced this coffee from Ture Waji, known as "The King of Guji" to many in the industry. He has been working in Guji for many years, processing and exporting exceptional coffees that have become staples on many menus. His company, Sookoo Coffee, typically specializes in natural coffees, but has expanded into producing washed lots, like this coffee, last year.

Bookkisa Washed is a great example of everything we expect from a Guji lot. On the cupping table, we taste dried mango, tropical fruit, delicate florals, and black tea complemented by a buttery mouthfeel. We recommend single-cup brewing methods to highlight the complexity of this coffee. Dial into this exciting origin with us by starting with a 1:16.5 brew ratio, filtered water at 204-206℉, a medium grind, and a 3-3.5 minute brew cycle.

Orange

Warm, lively orange coffees feature sweet citrus and stone fruit flavors of peaches, tangerines, and apricots.
